A 55 slide PowerPoint designed to run over a 6 week period covering Health Topics; alcohol, smoking, drugs, diet and exercise for tutors to use during tutor time (Year 11, 12 or 13). Along side this is a 8 page booklet for students to answer questions and evidence their learning. Both resources can be adapted and added to, to suit your teaching style and meet curriculum needs for your audience.
Unfortunatly, lots of drug video resources are blocked at my school so some videos are American teenagers but there’sno reference to America and they are suitable for a British teenage audience.

An activity to introduce students to alcohol units, calories in alcohol, financial implications of drinking and the health risks involved. This is engaging, using a case study and resources you can download for free from the Public Health England …
Component 3 requires students to know the weekly alcohol units number, know the health risks and then come up with a plan of reducing alcohol intake so this gets students thinking about this and can be carried out reasonably independently.

This resource package is an educational opportunity for children and young people to learn about what goes on inside their body. There are engaging activities in a booklet form, for two age groups; 8-11 year-olds and 11+, which can be printed off back to back or alternatively, completed on screen.
Children will learn the location of internal body parts and what each bit does, to keep us healthy. They can build an internal organs structure, so you can either print these off in colour or black and white (to colour in) or draw them. Cutting and sticking is engaging and there’s a sense of achievement when completed, which can only be a good thing.
A printer is a distinct advantages but you could improve your drawing skills to still enjoy this activity, with your children. For the card, you can use cereal boxes, to give the overall activity strength.

With little guidance from the exam board, its difficult to know what to be advising students… however, this is my attempt…
A recap for Learning Aim A & B, the purpose of student learning so far and the relevance of this with regards the Part A 4 pages and Part B exam. There is guidance as to what students could be revising and again, reiterating that a lot of the work we’re doing in lessons is to familiarise them with websites which contain data, in advance of their Part A Controlled Assessment.
I have included an easier-to-read format for the exam board sample assessment material you could adapt and use with students so they get use to what they’re task article and exam questions might look like, matched against the marking criteria.
In addition, there is an A3 Revision template for research methodologies for students to work on and have as part of planned revision.
